Let the holiday season begin! This session was my “season opener” for the holiday season in September. (I know it still feels like summer in September in Texas, but it’s so much better to get photos made in September and early October at the latest when you need holiday gifts and cards made from them. No one needs to rush or be stressed!) We met at the beautiful Heritage clubhouse in Keller for this family/9 month Origins session.
You may recognize these boys from their sneak peeks:
Who reading this is strong-willed and independent? How many of your mothers can say you’ve been this way since…well…the VERY beginning? Well, Addi’s mom can say that about her! It was still a treat to work with her. It’s almost easier because they just give you their whole personality once you crack the surface.
This image is one of my favorites from her mini session because I was actually packing up when it happened. She found a semi-sheer fabric in my camera bag and was playing peek-a-boo with it, and I just couldn’t call quits on the session QUITE yet. You can see why, can’t you?
Celebrate what defines you.
Don’t forget! I am currently offering mini sessions on select days in October and November! Call (682.553.3644) or email me (Tamara@RTCPhotoWork.com) to find out more information!
If you would like to get on the email list to find out about other mini sessions and other specials throughout the year before the public, sign up here. I know how crowded inboxes get with notifications of everything, so don’t be afraid of having constant emails from me—I won’t let that happen.

I will tell you…once they get to about 4-6 months, babies are really distracted and squirmy when they nurse. When you’re talking about a 1 year old, oh man! It’s not a joke! I had the pleasure (seriously, Kaitlyn, PLEASURE!) of photographing Kaitlyn and her 13 month old, Paxton to memorialize and celebrate their ongoing nursing relationship. Other than what I’ve come to call the “mom’s eye view” image, she had one photo in mind…
I can’t say how special this session was. It was only my second session so far completely focused on the nursing relationship between a mother and her child, and I have to say…I LOVE these sessions! They tap into the mother in the woman and capture it like stream of conscience writing—but in photos. It is seriously hard to only share a sneak peek from Shannon & Jackson’s session downtown Fort Worth. They were so beautiful!
We’re live with the first issue of the Origins magazine! It is a quarterly magazine for parents and soon-to-be parents who are lost in the confusion of contradicting advice and for parents on the hunt for healthier options for food, beauty, and hygiene products. Hit “Expand” to read the magazine.
A HUGE thank you goes out to Melissa Jean of Melissa Jean Photography for contributing to this issue!
I’m looking for future contributors and stories, so if you read this issue and feel like you have something to share email me. I’m already working on ideas for the next issue!
If you or someone you know is expecting and is interested in maternity or newborn photography, contact me using the contact form or send me an email. The first weeks are so important! For more information on when to have a newborn session, read this blog post.
